Dear Parents and Friends of CCS:

Most of us understand as parents that it is our job to teach our children to follow God; however, many of us fail to realize the intentionality and focus that this requires.  Discipling our children is really a twenty-four hour a day, seven-day a week job that requires much effort.  True discipleship includes far more than just instilling biblical knowledge in our children. It centers on helping them know and experience Christ personally.  As our children submit to Him and walk in obedience to His Word, they will begin to grow in Christ-likeness.  As Christ transforms their lives, He will be able to use them to accomplish His purposes on this earth.  This is the ultimate goal of discipleship!

Intellectual development can not be neglected in this process.  God has given humans the capacity to think and reason, and He expects us to be good stewards of these abilities.  J.P. Moreland makes a profound statement in his book, Love Your God with All Your Mind.  He states, “Halfhearted study in high school or college represents a failure to grasp the fact that loving God with the mind is part of worship.  Such halfhearted study is an unworthy offering to the Lord.”  We could, of course, broaden his statement to include all of us, but his point is this:  Using and developing the mind honors God.  It is a spiritual act of worship.

If you are looking for a school to support your discipleship efforts with your children, CCS may be the place for you.  Helping children mature spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and physically is our focus.  Our teachers and staff are actively pursuing devotion to Christ and are striving to live in obedience to the Word of God.  These things truly set us apart from other schools in our area.

It would be an honor to work with you to prepare your children to live out their God-given potential.  Nothing in this life compares to knowing that the God of the universe is working in you, changing you and using you to accomplish His purposes.  It is my prayer that all of our children will experience the joy that comes from walking with the Lord and participating in His work!
